Shoulder impingement syndrome is a common disorder that causes pain and disability. There is a lot of evidence to show that home-exercise programmes are effective in improving symptoms of shoulder impingement syndrome. Osteopathic treatments are often performed to treat shoulder impingement syndrome with many clients reporting improvements. However the scientific evidence for osteopathy in treating shoulder impingement syndrome is lacking. This study looks to identify if osteopathic treatment can provide additional benefits to that of a home-exercise programme.
What is required from the participant? You will need to attend 2 testing sessions lasting about 20 minutes each. You will receive a 6 week evidence based home-exerise programme to be performed 5 days a week for 15 minutes at a time. You may also receive 6 osteopathic treatments during this period. Trial LocationNew Zealand - Auckland |
