Exploring attitudes towards intimate partner violence

If you live in New Zealand, are over the age of 16, have a good command of the English language and have the experience of being in an intimate relationship then this research needs you. Please note you do not have to have experience of intimate partner violence to participate.

Societies all over the world are struggling to eradicate intimate partner violence (IPV). Crime statistics from 2002-2008 showed that the rate of IPV in NZ was rising, with over 40 thousand arrests in 2008.
In order to change behaviour one of the important areas to focus on is attitude towards and acceptance of this behaviour within society. This research seeks to find out what participants current attitudes towards intimate partner violence are and if there are certain factors that may affect these attitudes. The data obtained from this research will hopefully provide useful suggestions for violence prevention campaigns and also be used as a comparison that future research can use to ascertain if attitudes have changed.

What is required from the participant?

One questionnaire, maximum of 15 minutes of your time. A donation will be made to one of three NZ charities on your behalf.

Criteria:	Participants need to live in New Zealand, be over the age of 16, have a good command of the English language and have the experience of being in an intimate relationship. They do not need to have experience of intimate partner violence to participate
