Are you female and aged 21 45 or male between 14-16 years of age?
We have the cervical cancer/genital warts vaccine Gardasil(R) available at a reduced price to anyone who would like to participate in a study. Gardasil(R) protects against a virus that can cause a number of genital cancers and cervical cancer later in life and genital warts. The vaccine is free for NZ women 20 years and under and available privately for women 21 years and over and men 14 - 26. The Immunisation Advisory Centre at the University of Auckland are seeking young women and men to participate in a study looking at factors that contribute to minor injection site reactions after vaccination. Participants will receive the Gardasil(R) HPV vaccine from an authorised vaccinator, answer some questions and provide a single small blood sample. To compensate you for your time you will be offered a gift. If you are female and aged 14 20 years of age you are eligible to receive the vaccine for free. If you are aged 21 45 years of age (including international students) we are able to provide the vaccine at $50 for the first dose and $99 each for dose 2 and 3. Normally this costs around $150 - $180 per dose. If you are interested in being involved in this study please contact us.
