Despite media promotions, we are still experiencing unintended consequences from our drinking: hangovers, falls and injuries, unintended sex, getting into fights, drunk driving... The health and social costs that result from drinking are counted in billions. The problem is that alcohol acts on our brains to blot out the safety intentions we have prior to going out for the evening. What might help is a reminder of our safety intentions to our mobile phone while we are out drinking. These messages will be set up by each participant – our own messages are more relevant to us and will prompt our memories. This PhD study is investigating the use of txt messages to support personal safety while out partying. The text messages are free to you.

What is required from the participant?

You set up your own messages and delivery schedule on a web site (or using our app if you have an iPhone or Windows Phone 7). The time you spend doing this is up to you. You will be in the draw to win $20 phone vouchers each month.
