You might be eligible if you:

„X Are aged 18 to 75 years
Have treated or untreated high cholesterol
Are able to participate in a study for up to 32 weeks
(Involves approx. 8 visits, 1-6 weeks apart)

You could be able to take part in this NEW study at the Southern Clinical Trials (N.I.) Ltd

We are offering people the chance to take part in this study of a new medication that may help improve cholesterol. If eligible you will receive medical review.
Travel costs will be covered

What is required from the participant?

Are able to participate in a study for up to 32 weeks
(Involves approx. 8 visits, 1-6 weeks apart)

Groups

Raised Cholesterol - Condition specific
Age: 18 - 75
Gender: Any
Ethnicity: Any
Criteria: There may be reasons why you are not allowed to take part in this study.
Some of these reasons include:

• if you are taking simvastatin 80 mg

• if you are taking a medication that has the same or better effect than simvastatin 80 mg in managing the types of fats in your blood. The study physician should be able to inform you about this based on the medications you are taking

• if you have a history of myocardial infarction, stroke, coronary artery bypass surgery or other revascularisation procedure, unstable angina or angioplasty within 3 months of your first visit

• if you have uncontrolled or newly diagnosed Type I or Type II diabetes mellitus or if you have Type I or Type II diabetes mellitus and are currently being treated with a statin drug

• if pregnant, breastfeeding or expecting to become pregnant during the projected duration of the study
